Description
March is Women’s History Month and March 8th is International Women’s Day! These Spanish reading comprehension passages and activities are great comprehensible input for Women’s History Month or anytime! Each reading describes a notable Women’s History Leader and includes their name, illustration, birthday, where she is from, profession, notable facts or accomplishments, and footnotes for vocabulary help.
⭐This activity is included in my Spanish Reading Comprehension Activities BUNDLE!⭐
These are written to be comprehensible for beginner and intermediate level students. They include lots of examples of the following structures and vocabulary: me llamo, mi nombre es, me gusta, professions, and lots of cognates. There are footnotes at the bottom with help for vocabulary and past tense verbs.
The readings can be used as a gallery walk with the included Busca a alguien que… activity. Just hang them around the classroom, hallway, etc. and let students move around to read each one. You can also print 2 or 4 per page to use as task cards on each desk or for other activities.
Mystery Picture Puzzle – this self-checking puzzle for Google Sheets has 20 comprehension questions for 10 of the readings. The readings are embedded in the spreadsheet so it is not necessary to click between different files. Correct answers turn green and reveal part of the puzzle. Incorrect answers turn red. A word bank is included but can be deleted if you’d like.
Interactive Google Slides activity that has all 24 of the readings plus 3 true or false statements. Students drag “cierto” and “falso” icons underneath each statement.
DIGITAL VERSIONS: I’ve included the readings in Google Slides format to project as a presentation, send one slide, etc. I’ve also included a landscape Google Slides version of the Busca a alguien que… activity for an option for paperless or distance learning.
