Description
These St. Patrick’s Day in Spanish reading comprehension passages and activities are great comprehensible input for St. Patrick’s Day / El Día de San Patricio! Each reading describes a leprechaun and includes their name (all silly names!), illustration, where they are from (all towns in Ireland), parent names, birthday, likes, favorite color (all shades of green), favorite food and drink (all greenish!), and footnotes for vocabulary help.
⭐This activity is included in my Spanish Reading Comprehension Activities BUNDLE!⭐
These are written in present tense to make them comprehensible for beginner level students. They include lots of examples of the following structures and vocabulary: me llamo, mi nombre es, se llama, me gusta, verbs, food and drink vocabulary, family vocabulary, dates, mi color favorito.
The readings can be used as a gallery walk with the included Busca a alguien que… activity. Just hang them around the classroom, hallway, etc. and let students move around to read each one. You can also print 2 or 4 per page to use as task cards on each desk or for other activities.
Also includes Los Tesoros activity where students draw or insert an image of something each leprechaun would consider a “treasure” based on his/her likes.
There’s also a blank writing template for students to create and write about their own leprechaun following the pattern of the readings. Blank versions of the Tesoros and Busca activities are also included if you’d like to repeat them using students’ writings.
DIGITAL VERSIONS INCLUDED! I’ve included the readings and writing template in Google Slides format. I’ve also included a landscape Google Slides version of the Busca a alguien que… activity and Tesoros Activity for an option for paperless or distance learning.
